The weekend of May 11/12 the PREPARES ministry of St. John the Baptist is hosting a Mother’s Day “needs drive.” We will be collecting items to fill PREPARES Support Bags that will be distributed to disadvantaged mothers in our community.
Currently, our volunteers are ministering to at least 15 families- mothers, expectant mothers, and lots of babies and kids! They are greatly appreciative of the wonderful items the St. John the Baptist community has contributed previously. With this Mother’s Day collection, we are hoping to restock our supplies in order to continue and expand our outreach.
Appropriate items to donate include:
- For Baby:
- Diapers and pull-ups – only Size 5 and 6 diapers and Size 3T-4T Pull-ups (for both boys and girls) please
- Diaper wipes
- New baby blankets
- New clothes (pajamas, underwear, socks; ages infant to 5 years)
- Baby shampoo and diaper rash ointment
- For Mom:
- Comfy socks/slippers
- For Ministry:
- Financial contributions (cash or checks made out to St. John the Baptist-memo: PREPARES ministry)
Donations will be accepted before and after each of the Masses on May 11/12, Mother’s Day weekend. A baby crib will be set-up in the narthex.
