Step into the Spirit: Eucharistic Procession & Jubilee Year Pilgrimage
Tuesday, July 1, 2025 | Begins at 9:00 AM
Start: Holy Spirit Church, Kent
End: Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs, Tukwila
As part of our journey through the Jubilee Year, you’re invited to walk with us—literally! Join fellow pilgrims from across Parish Family 30 for a special Eucharistic Procession and Jubilee Year Pilgrimage on Tuesday, July 1.
We’ll begin our walk at 9:00 AM from Holy Spirit Church in Kent, following the Interurban Trail to the Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs in Tukwila—a peaceful, 6-mile stretch of prayer, song, and community. The procession will take about three hours, with a few stops along the way.
Join Us Along the Way
If you’re not up for the full six miles, no problem! You can meet us at one of our trail access points:
- 1st Stop: S 228th St
- 2nd Stop: S 196th St
Join the pilgrimage where you’re comfortable and walk a portion of the route. Please arrange your own transportation between sites.
Celebrate the Journey with Mass
We’ll conclude our pilgrimage with a special Mass with Fr. Carlos presiding at the Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs, beginning around 12:30 PM. It’s a beautiful way to close the journey—gathered around the altar, united in Christ.
Lunchboxes will be available for purchase, $9 each, at the finish for those who want to stick around and celebrate. Boxes will have a Vietnamese sandwich, cucumber, and fresh pickled vegetables, a bottle of water, and a piece of fruit. Purchases support the Vietnamese Martyrs parish building fund.
A Pilgrimage with Purpose
This journey fulfills one of the site visit requirements for receiving the Jubilee Year indulgence—a beautiful way to deepen your spiritual connection during this sacred year.
Important Notes:
- Safety first! We’ll have volunteers and clear guidelines to keep everyone safe along the trail.
- Wear good walking shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather.
- There are no bathrooms along the walking route, only smaller bushes.
Let’s come together as One Church on the move—body, soul, and spirit!
