To Hope and Act with Creation
Season of Creation 2024
The 2024 Season of Creation consists of five Sundays, with each having a specific theme that aims to promote an ecological vision and spirituality centered on fostering peaceful and life-affirming relationships with both each other and the natural world. These themes urge us to have hope and take action for the well-being of the environment. Weekly reflections on “Hope and Action” for the 2024 Season of Creation can be found in the September bulletins.
The Creation Care Team invites you to actively participate in showing respect and care for our planet during the Season of Creation. From September 1st to October 5th, let’s come together to preserve natural resources and promote sustainable practices in our community.
Join us in these opportunities to grow in hope and take action:
- Prayers during liturgies
- Ivy Removal – September 28th
- Pet Blessing & Animal Expo – October 4th
- Adopt-A-Street Clean-Up – October 5th
Other simple ways to participate:
- Reuse items whenever possible, such as repurposing containers or opting for secondhand goods.
- Conserve water by taking shorter showers, turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, and fixing leaks to save gallons of water daily.
- Reduce meat consumption by adding a meatless meal to your week, as livestock farming contributes significantly to greenhouse gases.
- Use energy efficiently by turning off lights, unplugging devices when not in use, and switching to LED bulbs or energy-efficient appliances.
