Dear Faith Formation Families,
We hope that you are continuing to find ways to celebrate the beauty of life, each other, and the world at large! We are looking toward in-person Faith Formation (FF) come September 2021! Let us all be in prayer and social care of each other, in such a fashion that we can keep the direction of formation leaning toward in person catechesis!
We will be taking note of what is happening in our school districts as we prepare for the return to the McMullen Center for Faith Formation. Registration is NOW open for 2021-22 Faith Formation classes and Sacramental Preparation! Please make a hard copy of this, fill out the registration form and return it to the parish office with a check or cash. You may also fill it out and send a scan/pic to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send checks to 25810 156th Ave. SE, Covington, WA 98042, or drop them by the church office. Thank you.
If you need assistance with the fees please connect with Joan Williamson at 253-630-0701 x109. Know that there are scholarships available, or you can pay throughout the year as you are able. Never let money be the reason you don’t participate in Faith Formation.
For Sacramental preparation, we prepare each student over a two-year period, making sure that the first year is a foundational community building year, with the second year focused on the specific Sacramental formation! Sacraments will be celebrated at the completion of both years. Make sure to check the box for the Sacraments that you would like your children to be prepared for. These students must also be participating in their age-appropriate FF program as well.
As we return to the classrooms and Youth Groups we will need many volunteers to help along the way. Volunteers will be provided training and ongoing support. Please let one of us know if you would like to volunteer! Thank you.
We are looking forward to working with you as we continue the journey of Faith Formation! As always, we encourage you to continue to celebrate Mass as a family either in person or virtually via our website. Other ways to stay connected are through our Parish Wide Zoom gatherings, St. John’s Facebook page, our website, and the bulletin that is sent (email/US mail) weekly.
