This week all parishioners will receive a letter from Father Jim about the Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal. This campaign reaches out to individual Catholics in all parishes to ask for their support for the ministries of the Archdiocese. Ministries that are Archdiocesan-wide include jail ministry, ministry to seafarers, mental health ministry, and grief ministry. In this 9 minute video, Joe Cotton and Erica Cohen-Moore talk a bit more about those ministries.
This year our parish share of the Appeal is $113,508. If we exceed that goal, the Archdiocese will return those funds to the parish in the form of a rebate which we hope to use to upgrade and improve the aesthetics of the restrooms near the sanctuary and the McMullen Center.
Because of the simple reality that many of our parishioners will be unable to give this year, we are counting on those who can to step up their giving slightly over last year. If you are unable to give, please write on the return envelope that you will keep the Archdiocese in your prayers - your support in every form is part of being Catholic, and you can be assured that Father Jim is grateful for your gift, whether the amount.
